Steven Allan Spielberg (/ˈspiːlbɜːrɡ/; born December 18, 1946) is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. He directed box office success E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. After a brief hiatus, he directed two back-to-back hit movies with the science fiction thriller Jurassic Park. In addition, he co-founded Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks, and has served as a producer for many television series and films. Spielberg is also known for his long time collaboration with composer John Williams, with whom he has worked for all but five of his feature films.
