Optimus Prime is one of the main protagonists of the original continuity of the Transformerslive-action film series of Paramount Pictures, inspired in the original franchise of Hasbro and Takara Tomy, and one of the main protagonists (alongside Steve Carell) of the Universal Studios series.
Originally a peaceful Cybertronian scientist and the very last Prime of the Dynasty, Optimus and his team of scientists were studying the mysterious Allspark until they were betrayed by their security units, the Decepticons, and his former brother in arms, Megatron, who became a Power-Hungry Warlord that desired the power of the Allspark to fulfill his tyrannical objectives.
Naming his squad of scientists as the Autobots, he used his team to fight the tyrannical Decepticons in order to stop them from getting the AllSpark's awesome power. He is based off his original incarnation with the same name. He is also the co-leader of Universal Studios heroes.
